Dreamcast 12V Rail: Dummy Load Modchip
AUD10.00
This tiny little modchip is used to provide a "dummy" load on the SEGA Dreamcast with a GDEMU ODE installed. This prevents the power supply overheating as the 12V power rail isn't generally used when no optical drive is present.
Previous options to solve this issue include removing the 12V regulator from the PSU, however this can cause compatibility issues with accessories such as RGB Scart cables, etc.
This tidy solution simply connects three 1k Ohm resistors in parallel on a small PCB to absorb the load and remove the heat.
To connect to your console, simply solder the 12V and Ground points to the underside of your PSU or directly on the GDEMU itself.
